Peter Green Wins Club Man Of The Year Award
clubman.jpg

Peter joined Northbridge in 1994 with the advent of an Over 35 KDSA Division. Since then Peter has been actively involved in playing and coaching with the Over 35’s, taking over the reins of running the Division One squad from Brian Armour in about 1998. The squads have since tripled with the Club now having teams in Divisions One, Two and Three.
In 2009 Peter was instrumental in helping Northbridge win the Division One Championship. The team then progressed to the Champion of Champions representing the KDSA.
More recently Peter has also been running the Club’s Socceroos nights at the Golf Club and the annual Club Golf Day. Peter has also taken on the all important position of Club Kit Manager and is already developing a new and accountable system for next year.

Tough Pre-Season Trials for Girls
16b-vs-gladesville.jpg
                                        Gladesville 16B and Northbridge 16B
Northbridge girls have just completed a series of challenging trial games against some of the best Clubs outside the KDSA. Games were played in extreme heat and against hot opposition like Beacon Hill , Mosman , Narrabeen and Gladesville plus our friends over at Lane Cove. Our A teams faired pretty well winning the majority of their games but it didn't go all our way in the division two and three clashes. Congratulations to our Under12As who won all their games convincingly under new coach Neale Muston.

Local Member Shows Her Colours
9march2010.jpg
At the official opening of Cammeray Public School's new ‘Zone 4’ all weather surface, our local State MP Gladys Berejiklian took on the Northbridge colours for a football game between teachers and kids. Gladys is a Northbridge FC Patron so was right at home in the red and white. Despite the pouring rain Gladys displayed some of her old schoolgirl form. The school has a long association with the club and this season over 100 Cammeray Public kids will play for Northbridge.

Football + HSC = Results
p1010003.jpg
Understandably we lose players, boys and girls, during the vital HSC year. Bucking the trend were girls who actually took up football to help get them through the HSC. Three Willoughby High girls who were part of the 2009 Under18C team not only became handy players  but also used the games as a break from studies . Each of these girls went on to record over 90% in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rankings. Supporting studies that suggest that exercise makes the brain more alert. Our congratulations go to Katie Sharp, Lucy McCutcheon and Kristin Renzenbrink.

What do these kids have for breakfast?

Club Promotes more Carpooling
img_1828.jpg
Taking car pooling to the extreme are our the Northbridge Nomads seen here returning from a recent Gala Day in Phnom Phen. Back here in Sydney the club is asking parents and players to carpool. Besides the obvious cost savings, environmental issues and traffic congestion reduction, carpooling is a great way to reduce both complaints from local residents and stress levels from parents trying to find a park. Kids love it too. It is important that a Club the size of Northbridge FC considers all our neighbours, understand their issues and do our best to keep parking in adjacent areas to ovals to an absolute minimum.
